Group Vision

Vision insurance provides employers two major benefits:

  1. It helps to attract and retain qualified employees.  An American Optometric Association survey showed that 66% of employees value vision benefits so much that they would trade at least one vacation day for vision insurance.

  2. It helps to increase productivity and reduce missed work time.  Vision problems can result in headaches, fatigue, body aches, and irritability – all of which impact an employee’s performance.  A comprehensive eye examination can also help in the early detection of medical conditions such as diabetes and hyper-tension.

Our Vision product offers comprehensive benefits at an affordable cost.  Our plans provide routine examinations and a wide variety of eyewear, including frames and contact lenses, with a choice of co-payment and frequency of services.  Participants may choose a vision care provider from the extensive Davis Vision network or may choose a provider from outside of the network.

Plans are available for all eligible employees and their dependents, for groups of 10 or more, on a voluntary, contributory, or employer-paid basis.  Our Vision insurance can be issued on a stand-alone basis, or employers can benefit from consolidated bills and the convenience of a single ID card for covered employees by combining our Vision and Dental plans.

There are two basic Vision plans: a 12/12/12 plan that provides for an exam, lenses, and frames once every 12 months; and a 12/12/24 plan that provides for an exam and lenses once every 12 months and for frames once every 24 months.  For each basic Vision plan, there are variations based on the amount of co-payment.
